Culture is what you can rely on. Cultivating the earth means that you are almost never without flour and other necessities of life. Living in houses means that you don't have to worry about shelter and security. Spare time means a certain wealth, provided that you don't go hungry and you're not homeless. Finally development of personality means that you can rely on yourself...

The culture is not God-given. Some times you have to fight for better conditions. Or you have to work hard to reach what is necessary for protection of life and common wealth. Some times results are destroyed and must be rebuilt...

It will not always be possible to arrange cultural elements in chronological order. Early cultures have been more advanced than today, or some elements have been higher developed. But the organic connection was missing at the early plane. The element was perhaps ahead of its age...

Culture is upbringing

Memories from cultural development are fixed in one's mind, as if they stem from the laws of nature. New generations learn by upbringing, how older generations behaved. Knowledge is passed on to one’s son or daughter as the natural way of tackling problems of everyday life. Many layers of solutions, but also frustrations, anxiety, and happy events lie behind the way of doing things. Culture is the proper way of acting. It implies a lot of common sense, but also a lot of conservatism...

Repetition creates understanding

The mental side of culture works because it is repeated, over and over again, for a very long period. That's how different religions are realized, each of them moulded in a special geographical area.

Religion interprets reality and the different forms of life. When the repetition is followed up by material frames, uniforms, rituals and maybe weapons, it reaches a new reality status. If the alternatives are forbidden and classified as paganism, it forms the basis of cultural development...
